10th TSG1 jubilee meeting dedicated to BlueGrowth – report from Tivat

10th meeting of the Thematic Steering Group for Pillar I – Blue Growth, under the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR), was held on 14-15 November 2019 in Tivat (Montenegro). The meeting was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Montenegro with support of the European Integration Office – EUSAIR Facility Point Project Partner in Montenegro. The 10th – jubilee meeting was attended by representatives of 6, out of 8, countries: Albania, Croatia, Greece, Italy, Montenegro, Serbia as well as by the representative of the European Commission-DG Regio and the representative of the Facility Point Lead Partner from Slovenia.

On the occasion to the 10th TSG1 meeting, participants were informed on the conclusions and decisions from the last Governing Board, on the state of art with regards to the proposed list of macro-regional priorities related to the field Blue Growth and on other activities at macro-regional level. The main focus during this meeting was work on development of project idea related to ‘’Fishing tourism and ichthyotourism’’. The general objective of this project idea is to assess the status of fishing tourism and ichthyotourism diversification activities in the Adriatic-Ionian (AI) Region including both marine and fresh water bodies. TSG1 members stress importance of implementation of such a project taking into account that implementation of the project would be of great importance for fishing tourism in the AI region.
