OECD Seminar – Key Insights into EUSAIR processes

The OECD was working with the Strategy’s eight participating countries and the European Commission to map the multilevel governance practices in each country with respect to EUSAIR. The objective was to identify what works and what needs to be strengthened or adjusted to better support EUSAIR implementation by its key implementers and the Facility Point Project Partners. The project is concluding its final phase.

The last OECD EUSAIR seminar was dedicated to helping countries transition into the post-2020 period specifically with respect to their EUSAIR multi-level governance practices. As the OECD project on multi-level Governance practices concludes, this appears to be an opportune moment to briefly take a final, closer look at the findings and recommendations from the OECD report on national level multi-level governance practices supporting EUSAIR. Since the study’s findings are fixed in time, it also permitted participants to see how their practices have evolved since the project began in early 2017.

At the request of the European Commission, and as part of the project’s second phase, the OECD developed a self-assessment tool for countries to subjectively examine their national-level multi-level governance practices in support of EUSAIR. The tool was presented at the seminar – including its methodology and potential uses – and participants had an opportunity to test it, provide feedback and share additional insights with respect to practices that are working well or those that may require further attention.
