On 28 October 2017, Cesenatico (Italy) hosted an International conference »Financing the EUSAIR« under the auspices of the Italian Chairmanship of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Region and the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative.
The aim of the event was to bring together the EUSAIR Governance structures, the Private sector and International Financing Institutions (IFIs) to explore the cooperation possibilities and form new partnerships.
The European Investment Bank, the Development Bank of the Council of Europe and the Italian »Cassa Depositi e Prestiti« attended the meeting that was chaired by the Italian Undersecretary of State, Sandro Gozi.
This thematic event was one of the priorities of the Italian Presidency to achieve concrete progress in the implementation of the EUSAIR through the promotion of strategic regional projects labelled within the EUSAIR Strategy that could improve the pooling capabilities of the EU Structural and Investment Funds with other international/regional financial instruments and funding institutions.
