When filming in different countries, interesting stories connecting ideas, people and countries within the European macro-regions were found, which proves that the integration of projects between different countries brings new opportunities for the future of the EU. The closing event of the project Macroregions Here and Now will take place on 6 March 2019 at 12.00 in the House of EU, Ljubljana, Slovenia. The event hosted by RTV Slovenia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (coordinator of the EU macro-regional strategies in Slovenia) and the Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy (EUSAIR Facility Point Lead Partner) is aiming to exchange views on the opportunities that macro-regions bring to the European citizens.
Macroregions Here and Now
Ljubljana, Slovenia | 6 March 2019Slovenia is the only EU Member State that lies at the junction of three macro-regions: Adriatic-Ionian, Alpine and Danube. Therefore RTV Slovenia has realized its responsibility in raising the general public awareness of the role and importance of macro-regions. In order to capture the stories of people living in these areas, RTV Slovenia, in cooperation with the European Commission, Directorate for Regional Development, has started the media project Macroregions Here and Now. Within this framework, 25 short broadcasts were created, which will be upgraded in three 25 minutes long broadcasts on the Alpine, Danubian and Adriatic-Ionian macro-regions, as well as in the final 50 minutes compilation. As soon as the material will be translated, we will of course share it with you.
