EUSAIR Presidency Of The Republic Of Croatia
Symbolically the chairmanship of EUSAIR was passed on from Bosnia and Herzegovina to Croatia at the 8th EUSAIR Forum with handing over of the stone flower from the hands of Elmedin Konaković, Minister Of Foreign Affairs Of Bosnia And Herzegovina to Gordan Grlić Radman, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia.
Croatia's chairmanship of the Strategy and the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative also coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Republic of Croatia's membership in the European Union.
During the one-year presidency, Croatia will highlight as its political priorities the transformation of the Strategy in the new macro-regional circumstances, encourage a stronger contribution of the Strategy and Initiatives to the EU enlargement process, the completion of the Strategy revision process, as well as stronger institutional cooperation in the framework of the four EU macro-regional strategies.
As its thematic priorities Croatia, guided by the current circumstances and context, has determined to strengthen resilience through better connectivity - transport, energy and digital - then sustainable growth and tourism, and to encourage social cohesion, through the introduction of a new Pillar in the Strategy dedicated to social issues.
The official inaugural conference of the Croatian chairmanship will be held on June 20, 2023 in Zagreb, and the most important and final event of the chairmanship - the 9th Annual EUSAIR Forum - will be held in May 2024.
