Capacity building for EUSAIR Pillar members and Facility Point partners
On 27-28 March 2018, the Soča Valley, Slovenia, held the first capacity building event for EUSAIR structures.
Forty members of four thematic pillars of the EUSAIR and the Facility Point partners participated in a two-day event to share experience and practices with their respective colleagues from the region.
The aim of the event was to better understand the current ways of cooperation, as well as to identify the needs for personal and institutional capacity development at national and macro-regional level in order to improve the intra-pillar and cross-pillar cooperation. The outcome of these two-day workshop was to establish a common ground for the development of a Capacity building Action plan for the Adriatic and Ionian Region.
It was for the first time that the key implementers and supporting structures of the Strategy were brought together around the table and in a guided workshop formed concrete ideas and proposals on how to make the implementation of the Strategy even more efficient. At this occasion, the participants also gained insight into two other macro-regional strategies – the Danube Region and the Baltic Region.
The event is part of a series of similar capacity building events planned to be organized in 2018 and 2019 in the region with a mission to enhance the capacities of EUSAIR governance structures.
The event was organised by the Government Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Development and European Cohesion Policy which was entrusted to implement the Facility Point Plus action.
