The efforts for more sustainable cross macro-regional collaboration is taking place also on specific topics, for example biodiversity with a special focus on ecological connectivity aimed at fostering an exchange of experience in dealing with common cross-cutting issues, mutual learning across the Macro-regional Strategies, as well as agreeing on concrete cooperation actions within the thematic.
Meeting on Building common cross-macroregional collaboration platform on biodiversity with specific focus on ecological connectivity was held in Zagreb in organisation of Interact and participation of EUSDR, DG REGIO, ESPON Programme and EUSAIR Facility Point.
The conclusion of which was that we have to be more aware of great ideas being developed in other Macroregional Strategies, in this regard we will try to join our thematic forces in the future to avoid fighting the same problems everyone on its own and to succed in changes we want to see in our regions. As one of the main issues reaching the EU and especially national policy levels was exposed as the core problem, we commonly face and have to overcome.
