A successful EUSAIR networking workshop in BiH
The Directorate for European Integration of BiH, as a project partner in the Strategic project “FACILITY POINT – Supporting the governance of the EUSAIR” held a workshop on the presentation of the EUSAIR and EUSAIR Facility Point project
On October 09, 2018 the Directorate for European Integration of BiH, as a project partner in the Strategic project “FACILITY POINT – Supporting the governance of the EUSAIR”, organized a workshop in Sarajevo, where the project was presented, its goals and networking of potential beneficiaries from competent institutions for the sectors of fishery, transport, energy, environmental protection and tourism/culture in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The participants of the workshop had the opportunity to receive information about the project and the possibilities it provides for potential users. Also, the members of the Thematic Steering Groups, formed within the EUSAIR, introduced the participants with their previous work and shared the experiences they have gained.
Programs of transnational and cross-border cooperation in which BiH participates were also presented, as one of the possible sources of funding for the implementation of EUSAIR from IPA assistance.
Although the strategy does not have specific sources of funding and involves the use of already available EU funds, which means IPA funds for the non-EU countries, the Strategy is very important for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Through the EUSAR processes BiH expects to strengthen the institutional capacities of key stakeholders and public administrations. The country will benefit in the means of effective coordination and cooperation among the countries in the region.
