Revision of EUSAIR Action Plan
EUSAIR Facility Point launched today an online public consultation at the EUSAIR Annual Forum for better involving EUSAIR stakeholders and the interested general public in the Action Plan revision process.
The context
The EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) is a macro-regional strategy adopted by the European Commission and Adriatic-Ionian Region countries in 2014. The Action Plan is one of the outputs of the Strategy approach. Its aim is to go from ‘words to actions’ by identifying the concrete priorities for the macro-region.
With the new Multiannual Financial Framework, EU policies update, new members joining the EUSAIR (namely North Macedonia and San Marino), the ongoing enlargement process and the need to address current challenges, the Action Plan revision process was initiated in spring 2022.
The revision process
The Action Plan revision is an extensive, bottom-up consultation process that involves a wide range of stakeholders from the Adriatic-Ionian Region representing national, regional and local authorities, but also the private sector, academia and civil society. This approach allows stakeholders at all levels to comment and endorse the future pillars as well as to point to actions/projects under each pillar that appear promising for responding to challenges and opportunities shared by participating countries. The aim is to have the first draft of the Action Plan in autumn 2022. Based on a series of consolidated inputs by all EUSAIR actors, the European Commission will use the consolidated proposal to draft the future Action Plan.
Invitation to participate
Through this public consultation, the EUSAIR stakeholders and civil society have the opportunity to contribute with their proposals for the new Action Plan. Therefore, everybody who would like to participate is invited to share ideas for new strategic actions to be considered as a valuable input to the revision.
This questionnaire will be opened until June 30. Thank you for your participation!
