PRESS CONFERENCE: NAMIRS project – North Adriatic Maritime Incident Response System
Environmental Quality flagship macro-regional project dealing with an effective response to the prevention and control of the consequences of an accident or potential pollution in the Adriatic Sea is essential in reducing the impact on the environment, the economy and the health of the population by the sea received European funding!
Dear Sir/Madam,
an effective response to the prevention and control of the consequences of an accident or potential pollution in the Adriatic Sea is essential in reducing the impact on the environment, the economy and the health of the population by the sea. Advance planning and transnational cooperation with relevant institutions is very important, such as the ASOSCop contingency plan in the event of accidents at sea – one of the 4 flagship macro-regional projects within pillar for environmental quality in the EUSAIR Adriatic-Ionian strategy. The first action to address these macro-regional strategic priorities is the NAMIRS project – North Adriatic Maritime Incident Response System, which received European funding from the Union Civil Protection Mechanism. The long-term preparation of the bases for this project has been carried out with the support of the Slovenian Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning, the Municipality of Izola and its Public Institute for Entrepreneurship and Development Projects – Facility Point for implementing environmental quality objectives within the EUSAIR strategy, as well as of the Central European Initiative-Executive Secretariat in Trieste that will also coordinate the implementation of NAMIRS, starting from March 2022.
The goals and results, as well as the breakthrough process achieved by the EUSAIR Environmental Quality pillar in recent years for transnational cooperation in the northern Adriatic in the field of limiting the consequences of incidents in the Adriatic, will be discussed at the
press conference on Wednesday, 16th February at 10:00 a.m.
