As a warm-up before the 4th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian Region (EUSAIR), which will start tomorrow 7 May 2019 in Budva, Montenegro, the EUSAIR Facility Point Lead partner from Slovenia, in cooperation with the European Integration Office of Montenegro, the media experts and the European Commission DG REGIO representative, organized a half-day workshop with students of journalism to exchange ideas on how to further involve young people to the EUSAIR-related activities.
The first part of the workshop was intended to illustrate the mission, goals and the role of the EUSAIR strategy and its processes in the Adriatic-Ionian region. Mr Miloš Mugoša, the Montenegrin Facility Point representative, Ms Nadine Lakhal, the European Commission DG REGIO representative and Ms Staša Mesec, the Facility Point Lead Project Manager from the Government Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Development and European Cohesion Policy, presented the EUSAIR Strategy's potential to make impact in the wider territory of the Adriatic-Ionian macro-region, in tourism, environment, blue growth and energy and transport industry sectors.
From the very beginning the students actively participated in the making of the workshop, as they published on social media, asked questions and provided ideas not only on how to strengthen the EUSAIR communication efforst, but also on how to deal with fake news and media reliability and trust. The discussion with Ms Barbara Zrimšek, the journalist of the Slovenian National Television (RTVSLO) was very engaging, as she shared her field experience in making the education shows on "good ideas and people stories" in the Adriatic-Ionian macro-region titled "Macroregions here and now".
