Once Upon a Time…
... there was a Communication Workshop. On November 18-19, the Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy of Slovenia acting as the EUSAIR Facility Point Lead Partner organized a pilot - 2nd communication workshop for EUSAIR Pillar 2 Transport members. The workshop was held in Belgrade, Serbia along the 11th Pillar 2 meeting.
The workshop was moderated by communication expert Gabriel Alvarez who introduced participants with methodological approach on strategic communication and accompained with a journalist.
The 1 day of the workshop was tailor made to apply the vision/mission of the EUSAIR to the Pillar 2 Transport filed of work. Participants also joined in an online stakeholder mapping game dedicated to identify, categorize and prioritize stakeholders active in Transport and Infrastructure. The 2 day of the workshop was focused on adressing communication in practice and journalist presented the ways how transport and infrastructure can be communicated to media. In the last session, participants had the opportunity to brainstorm and exchange ideas on how to use Storytelling techniques in the field of Transport.
Throughout the workshop the methodological approach was used, taking into account the developmental stage of the EUSAIR Strategy.
The purpose of the workshop was to build capacities of the EUSAIR governance structures in the field of strategic communication and equip them with the right set of knowledge and skills to produce a more effective, visible and attractive communication about the added value and unique aspects of the EUSAIR Strategy. The workshop aimed to develop understanding on key approaches in strategic communication and be able to recognize and take advantage on communication opportunities in the EUSAIR.
The workshop will resulted in a preparation of report with recommendations on how to improve the communication in the EUSAIR Pillar 2, focusing on Transport. The report will be presented as part of the final report on EUSAIR communication, at the next Governing Board meeting in February 2020.
