2nd Capacity Building event for National Coordinators
On 4-6 June, a small town in the Soča valley, Tolmin, became a centre of the macro-regional activity. Hosting the national coordinators of Italy, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia, the workshop was focused on providing further impetus for carrying out the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region. In particular, the participants discussed about the long-term perspective and better governance in the Adriatic and Ionian area. Some of these aspects had been already tackled by the national experts of the participating countries of the EUSAIR, which are organised in four thematic working groups – blue growth, connectivity, environment and sustainable tourism. The outcome of both workshops was to gain common understanding and commitments to take on new, identified challenges. This event is part of a series of similar events to be organised within the Facility Point Plus project led by the Government Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Development and European Cohesion Policy in order to promote cooperation in the region, encourage integration of non-EU countries and increase the capabilities of the EUSAIR key implementers.
